New Year…Good or Bad?

January 2, 2009

Life has been…crazy. Not pleasant. Something like that.

I sure hope and pray that this year is much better than these last two years have been. It seems weird to think that in about 8 months, I could be living somewhere else, going to college, working…reality.

As far as I know, I plan on graduating in May of this year. I will discuss that further with my teacher this Monday when I go back to school.

I got Columbo back on Christmas day. That takes a lot more stress out not worrying about Todd all the time. Babies are exhausting! I hope I gave him a good start for Kay & Amy, our friends that I started raising him for.

I know that God has a plan for everything, but I honestly think He put Columbo in my life for a reason. For many reasons. He is always there to comfort me through the tough times, when I feel alone. He gives me a purpose. Maybe I’m crazy. Excuse the rambling ;)

One good thing. I finally bought myself an Ipod! It’s a Classic, 120GB of memory…it’s amazing!

I’ll try to keep updating my blog. Anyone reading?

Random Midnight Blogging

November 17, 2008

These next few days are going to be busy…

Monday and Wednesday- 2:30 PM – School (turning in FIVE units tomorrow)

Friday - Trip to Castro Commons (surgery date?)

Saturday – Trip to Chico

Sunday – Thanksgiving with family, & Home Again

Monday – Heart Ultrasound & Doctor appointment

Thursday – Trip to Carmel & Thanksgiving with Step-family

Saturday – See Emmy, Hans, & Guido – & Home again

Note: We’ll be going to Chico December 20-21st for my birthday (Sleepover!)

Today, the lesson at church was all about Spiritual Discipline. It opened my eyes. I even took notes! If you want, read Romans 6:13, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and Galatians 3:27-29. The main things he said that stuck with me is “DAILY consider yourself dead to sin, and alive in Christ.” and “NEVER would anything you do make Jesus love you ANY less.”

The Heart Is The Only Broken Instrument That Works…

November 14, 2008

I’m not going to go into details. I was given not so good news from the heart doctor. My blood pressure was way too high and my heart is beating too fast. I have to go in to have an ultrasound of my heart done, and get a bunch of bloodwork done too. I go back on the 24th, same day as my ultrasound. Doctor said he wants to see me right after.

And, I thought the insurance approved me going to the Stanford clinic, but it turns out not. So, now we have to do a long drawn out process with Stanford calling the insurance and the insurance calling my primary care doctor and primary care doctor calling Stanford…too confusing for me! At this rate, I might have the surgery by next Christmas. Maybe.

” TRUST in the LORD with ALL your HEART and lean not on your own understanding; in ALL things acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. ” Proverbs 3: 5-6

I’m just going to keep saying that. Not going to stress about doctors anymore! And it’s time to put my energy back into my school work too. *kicks self in butt* (See Di, now you don’t have to do it for me!):-P

Speaking of schoolwork…I better go!

Why???

October 29, 2008
Well, for starters, I got a new guide dog puppy. His name is Todd, he’s a black labrador retriever. I am starting out the puppy raising for a friend in Chico.
We still haven’t heard anything about the insurance…I’m really nervous and starting to have doubts about whether this is the right thing to do or not.
I know it’s a matter of life and death, but I just don’t see how important that is right now…
I’m slowly losing my motivation for school, among other things.
My grandma had to put Cassie to sleep yesterday. She had cancer all over and there was nothing the vet could do to help her. She will be missed and never forgotten.

Live, Laugh, Love

September 13, 2007

So, my teachers FORGOT to tell me that I could leave my books in their classrooms! History, and health. Then my Geometry book stays at home along with my English book. So the only book I have to carry is my Grammar book every Tuesday and Thursday for English. Which my English teacher “Forgot” to tell me that we do Grammar on Tuesdays and Thursdays…The joys of being new!
I met all of the “American” kids at the school yesterday. Meaning, they were all born in America. There’s six of them all together. Quite a weird bunch.
My Biology teacher said she ordered frogs, worms and cow’s eyes for us to disect today… YUCK! I so am not doing that! She also said we might do a sheep’s heart, then I almost started crying. Frogs are bad enough!
Looks like I won’t be able to bring Guido to school for a while. The Principal is being really nice, and she wants to be educated but they’re all freaking out about “Liability” Seriously they think a yellow lab puppy is gonna bite someone? Yeah, especially Guido, he’s so mean. Delaney growled, but I don’t think he ever would’ve bit, and plus I STOPPED bringing him to school then! Ugh.
By the way, Delaney was placed with Mike Shanahan, pretty cool huh?! I don’t know though, I think it would’ve been better if he went to a family that kept in touch. :o / What can ya do?
More Soon,
Kaitlyn & Guido

Life

September 10, 2007

I started school at a Charter School which means they don’t have to follow the rules of the school district. That means,
No gum, flip flops, Shorts?!?, and you’re not even allowed to hold hands with the opposite sex. It’s so…different. Plus we have to carry our books to and from school everyday because they don’t have two sets like Chico High does. That means three or four text books. And most of the teachers require you to have a binder just for their class. It won’t even all fit in my backpack! So, that’s the most recent news…
Today was Country in the Park and I’m exhausted. And for some reason my mom and I aren’t getting along today… and I’m really irritated with everything she does. Is this just me or do other people have these days too? :o ( I HATE it!
Also, at Country in the Park, I bought a baby duck for $5, and I’m keeping him out at the horse rescue. He’s cute! (duh) I think I’m going to name him Vino because they have two ducks named Cheese & Quackers, and Vino means Wine in Spanish :o )
I’m missing Chico like crazy!
Love ya All,
Kaitlyn & Guido

Independent Study

August 24, 2007

Well…Wednesday I thought I was going in for “Testing” But it turned out to be, well, I wouldn’t call it testing! I had to answer questions in five to seven sentences. Questions like, “How will you be responsible at Options For Youth?” (That’s the school’s name) And “How can the teachers here help you accomplish your dream?” After that, I had to read about 10 different short stories and answer questions on each of them. Boorrriingg.

I sure hope this is a short term thing. Most of the kids there came unprepared, didn’t care about their work, their teachers had to pry it out of them. This shall be an interesting journey!!!

I’m getting Guido back tomorrow, so that’ll be good! I’m going to Lindsey’s next week, so I don’t know how that’s going to go, with Guido going with me…

AND LIFE GOES ON!!!
